WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Marc Racicot, Chairman of the
Republican National Committee, today released the following statement
regarding the one-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks on America:
"The Republican National Committee joins all Americans and people around
the world as we mark the one year remembrance of September 11. A year later,
we honor the innocent lives that were lost at the World Trade Center and the
Pentagon. We pay tribute to the rescuers who put their lives on the line to
save others. We remember the passengers aboard Flight 93 whose heroism won
the first battle in the war on terrorism. And we salute the brave men and
women of our military who defend America every day. They are all American
heroes.
"We must never forget the events of September 11. In the midst of
tragedy, we witnessed the true and indelible spirit of America. We are a
loving and compassionate nation where freedom is cherished, where religion is
freely exercised, and where all men and women are equal under the law.
"Last September, our way of life came under attack, but freedom won
because the light of freedom and liberty can never be extinguished. May God
continue to comfort the families of the many victims and may He continue to
bless our nation."
