JACKSON, Miss., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Parkway Properties,
Inc. (NYSE: PKY) announced today leasing activity for the month ended
August 31, 2006.

As of September 1, 2006, occupancy of the office portfolio was 90.9%,
up from 90.4% as of August 1, 2006. Since June 30, 2006, 54 leases were
renewed or expanded for approximately 175,000 square feet. Additionally, 24
new leases were signed totaling approximately 100,000 square feet. Not
included in occupancy are 22 leases totaling approximately 100,000 square
feet, which have been fully executed as of September 11, 2006. These leases
bring the portfolio to 91.7% leased as of September 11, 2006 as compared to
91.5% as of August 10, 2006.
