Also Named as a "Best Place to Work" Around the World
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Quintiles has
been recognized by the Great Places to Work(R) (GPTW) Institute as one of
the top 100 "Best Companies to Work For" in Brazil. The 2008 rankings were
recently published by the weekly news magazine Epoca, one of the most
widely read publications in the country.
Earlier this year, Quintiles was also named to the GPTW Institute's
"Best Workplace" rankings in India, Ireland and France. Quintiles' Innovex
operations were named to "Best Workplace" lists in the United Kingdom,
Germany, Ireland and Italy for 2008. Additionally, Quintiles was named to
Computerworld Magazine's list of the "100 Best Places to Work in IT" in the
United States.
Quintiles was cited as "The Best Company for Promoting Employees" in
the GPTW survey for Brazil. The Great Place to Work Institute survey ranked
Quintiles highly in the following categories in Brazil:
-- Best companies for promoting employees -- 1st
-- Companies with the largest percentage of women -- 3rd
-- Companies who provide opportunities to young staff -- 8th
-- Companies opening the largest number of positions -- 9th
-- Companies with largest number of employees with higher levels of
education -- 9th
This is the first time Quintiles has made the Brazilian list since the
Institute's awards began there in 1997. Quintiles' operations in Brazil are
located in Sao Paulo with a team of 165 people providing product
development services such as project management, clinical trial monitoring,
regulatory affairs and clinical trial laboratory services.
Each year, the Great Places to Work(R) Institute helps produce annual
"Lists of Best Workplaces" in 30 countries around the world, gathering data
from more than 3,000 companies.
As quoted in Epoca magazine, Quintiles' Dr. Marisa Sanvito, Executive
Operations Director, says Quintiles looks for specific traits in the
candidates it selects to join its team in Brazil, and around the world.
"People who want to work for Quintiles must have a passion for what
they do," she says. "Our employees must be participative and flexible
working in teams, focused on serving people and willing to make a
difference. This is the type of people we hire."
Sanvito says Quintiles is very proud to be recognized as an employer of
choice. "Quintiles has experienced tremendous growth over the past few
years, and we know it is the quality of our workforce that has made this
success possible," Sanvito explains.
"Because we value our employees so much, we work very hard to create a
positive and rewarding environment that will help keep them engaged with
opportunities for career development and progress."
