NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- "How to Deliver Real Value to
Employers and Clients" by Diebold Incorporated Vice President Don Eagon will
lead off the new professional development series for public relations
professionals sponsored by Kent State University's School of Journalism and
Mass Communication September 19.
The new series, aimed specifically at younger public relations
practitioners, is co-sponsored by PR Newswire and will be conducted at the KSU
state-of-the-art conference center on Kent's Stark campus. The inaugural
session will also feature a technology presentation on using websites to reach
key publics with David E. Meeker, a senior developer with the technology firm
WHITTMANHART of Chicago.
The series, called "Hit the Ground Running," will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.
The second part of the series on media relations and using technology to reach
the media will be held October 31 and the third part on getting better results
through research and using new internet techniques will be conducted
November 21.
"The Kent State School of Journalism is intent on providing public
relations professionals the kind of knowledge and skill development that they
previously had to go to New York or Chicago to obtain," explained Jeff Fruit,
director of the school. "We're especially interested in helping younger
professionals to get additional training in a way that is both convenient and
cost effective. We think this series does that."
Registration for the series is $225 for all three programs or $100 for
each. For registration details, contact the Kent State School of Journalism
and Mass Communication at 330-672-2572 or e-mail David A. Meeker at
