SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Industrial Supply Company
(ISC) recently promoted four members of its executive team -- Jon Richards,
Phil Thompson, Jessica Polychronis and Ruben Mendez.

    Jon Richards has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
Industrial Supply Company. His background in distribution, technology and
finance earned Richards the position of Chief Financial Officer in 1998. A
year later, he was promoted to President of Industrial Supply.

    Prior to working with ISC, Richards held positions as a Senior Auditor
at Deloitte and Touche, and as the Treasurer and Controller of Associated
Food Stores. He serves on the National Advisory Board for the Huntsman
School of Business at Utah State University, and as a trustee of the
University of Utah Medical Foundation. He holds an MBA from Brigham Young
University, and a B.A. in Accounting from Utah State University.

    Former CEO, Phil Thompson has been named the company's Chairman of the
Board. Under his leadership, Thompson earned Industrial Supply recognition
as the 2000 Sub-Contractor of the Year from both Thiokol Corporation, and
the U.S. Small Business Administration. Actively involved in the community,
he is serving his second term as the Chairman of the Economic Development
Corporation of Utah (EDCU), and is a member of the Community Board of Wells
Fargo Bank. For eight years, Thompson served as director of the U.S.
Bobsled Federation. He holds a law degree from LaSalle Extension University
in Chicago.

    Jessica Polychronis has been promoted to Vice President of Procurement
and Marketing. For the past six years, she was the Director of Marketing
while also fulfilling the role of Director of Purchasing. After graduating
with a B.A. in History and Anthropology from the University of Utah, she
moved from Operations to work full-time in the company's Purchasing
Department. Today, she is on the Young Executive Forum (YEF) Committee of
the Industrial Supply Association (ISA).

    Ruben Mendez, a Lean Enterprise Expert and Six Sigma Black Belt, has
been promoted from Director of Operations to Vice President of Operations
and Customer Service. Mendez has devoted more than a decade of loyal
service to Industrial Supply. He has worked with the City of Salt Lake to
organize safety training for non-English speaking workers, and served on
the advisory board for Utah-Mexico Trade, traveling with other Utah
business leaders to a trade mission in Mexico City, Mexico.
