ENGLEWOOD, CO USA
New Solution to Help Telecommunications Operators Serve the 'Spontaneous
                                  Consumer'

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading global
customer care and billing solutions provider CSG Systems (Nasdaq: CSGS) today
announced that it will offer a new real-time, continuous communication
solution designed to better equip telecommunications, content and e-commerce
companies to enable anytime, anywhere voice, video, data and content services
for their customers.

This new solution, CSG(R) Service Broker, is designed to address the
spontaneous nature of today's telecommunications consumer as they use more
services on-demand and on-the-fly from downloading ring tones, playing games
on the mobile phone, to purchasing on-demand video and more.
To enable an excellent experience for the consumer in this more
spontaneous world of service, these companies need tools that enable them to
validate customers' interactions and to quickly authorize, rate and charge for
these transactions, communicate about pricing, account balances and to
personalize service based on consumer preferences.
CSG Service Broker provides real-time, two-way active mediation between
advanced networks including 3G and IP and business support systems such as
pre- and postpaid billing for exchange of control and charging information.
It is designed to communicate information in real time about consumer activity
and content services transactions through functions such as advice of charge,
authentication, authorization, session control and more using protocols such
as Diameter, which is widely used in IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)
transactions.
"With the roll-out of advanced networks around the world, consumers expect
access to services like games, video, SMS messages to be instantaneous, no
matter where they are or what device they choose," said Paul Hughes, Vice
President of Communications Software Strategies Research at the Yankee Group.
"This has placed increasing pressure on telecom service provider's OSS/BSS
infrastructure to respond to these requests whether they are data or video,
prepaid or postpaid, within milliseconds. Vendors like CSG Systems, with its
Service Broker platform, have recognized this need and are delivering
solutions to help operators effectively address this challenge."
In fact, Yankee Group estimates that mobile commerce alone, comprising
premium content, remote commerce and point of sale purchases via the wireless
device will reach $9 billion by 2008.
When taking into account the additional system interactions required to
continuously authenticate, authorize and charge for each transaction
regardless if the customer is pre-, post- or now-paying for services, CSG
believes the message volumes handled by these kinds of systems will increase
multifold.
"Across our global customer base, consumers are demanding instant access
to more types of content and services than ever before," said Hank Bonde,
President of CSG's Global Software and Services Division. "We believe that
CSG Service Broker is a powerful tool that can enable these spontaneous
consumers to have a seamless experience ordering and paying for content in a
way that will encourage them to use more services over time."
CSG Service Broker fits within CSG's Kenan FX family of products. It can
be used as a real-time processing layer to complement CSG Data Mediation and
all CSG rating, charging and invoicing products across wireless, wireline and
broadband operations.
In addition, the solution provides real-time communication to CSG's
Authorization and Charging Manager solution (formerly known as CSG Kenan
Prepaid), acting as a value-add layer that can give global businesses an edge
in leveraging advanced networks and IN systems to get new convergent services
and content to market quickly.
