145 Malls to Set Up 'We Care, America' Sites for Donation Collection
CHICAGO, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- General Growth Properties, one of the
nation's oldest and most experienced mall owners and developers, has announced
its portfolio of 145 shopping malls will serve as monetary donation and
collection sites for the American Red Cross and that organization's efforts to
assist those affected by our nation's recent tragedies.
"Many of us have been affected, directly or indirectly, by the terrifying
events that have transpired over the past two days," said John Bucksbaum, CEO.
"As a country, we have a responsibility to come together to help the victims
and their families of these unimaginable tragedies."
"We Care, America" collection sites have been set up at each of the
company's 145 shopping malls. Customers and retailers are encouraged to make
cash and check donations. Checks should be made payable to the American Red
Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Many General Growth malls are also displaying large banners and cards for
everyone to express their condolences and emotions to those who have, directly
and indirectly, been affected by the tragedies in New York City and
Washington, D.C.
