Former President of Fortis Health Will Lead Medical Division
of Imerica as It Launches New Individual Major Medical Product
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Imerica Life and Health Insurance
Company today announced the appointment of Thomas Keller to the position of
Chief Insurance Officer. Mr. Keller brings over 30 years of actuarial,
financial, insurance product development and operations experience in the
health insurance business to Imerica. In his new position, Mr. Keller will
oversee the company's actuarial, underwriting, risk management and medical
delivery operations.

From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Keller served as Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of Fortis, Inc. Mr. Keller then served as President of
Fortis Health, combining the health divisions of two companies, Time and
Fortis Benefits. He was integral to the growth of Fortis Health to one of the
three largest writers of individual and small group health insurance in the
United States before his departure in 1998. Mr. Keller draws additional
knowledge from his 15 years with AMEX Life, formerly Fireman's Fund American
Life.
Mr. Keller earned a B.A. in Physics from Yale University, and completed
graduate work in Business Administration at Pepperdine University. He is also
a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of
Actuaries.
