Bioheart Inc., a Cardiovascular Disease Management Organization, Provides Patients with Products to Prevent Heart Attacks as well as Assisting Those Who Have Suffered a Heart Attack to Return to a Full Quality of Life

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Bioheart Inc., translating
the human genome for patient care, is presenting at the EMT East Trade Show.
-- Presenter -- Dr. Howard B. Haimes - Director of Business Development
Howard B. Haimes, Ph.D., joined Bioheart Inc. as a consultant in December
of 1999 and full-time as Director of Business Development -- June 2000. His
scientific achievements have resulted in several issued patents and an
approved IND application on a new chemical entity. Dr. Haimes received his
doctoral training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and did
postdoctoral studies at Vanderbilt University with Nobel Laureate Dr. Stanley
Cohen. He served as a visiting scientist in the Department of Biology at
M.I.T. and became a founding member of Organogenesis, Inc (ORG). He was
subsequently Directors of Animal Pathology and Biological Sciences at
OsteoArthritis Sciences, Inc. Dr. Haimes will present the core technologies
of Bioheart Inc.:

    * Bioheart Inc. Microimplant -- Myogenesis Program consists of the
implantation of autologous, immature myoblasts into damaged or diseased
heart muscle. Preclinical studies in a variety of animal species have
documented increases in the function of the heart subsequent to cell
transplantation. Summaries of the key, pivotal animal studies as well
as the company's device delivery technology will be presented. The
thoracoscopic, epicardial and percutaneous endovascular devices will be
described. The use of autologous cell transplantation will represent
one of the first true therapies for treating the cause of disease states
      such as congestive heart failure.

Bioheart's autologous cell source consists of myoblasts (skeletal muscle
cells), easily attainable from a 2 gram muscle biopsy have proven as an
effective cell source for heart muscle regeneration because they are
committed to become muscle, are resistant to ischemia, do not over
proliferate and are able to withstand cardiac workload. The work of Dr.
Doris Taylor, Vice President of Research and Assistant Professor at Duke
University, recognized, as the leading scientist in the field of heart
muscle tissue regeneration will be presented along with that of other
strategic collaborators. Bioheart's method for regenerating heart
muscle tissue is being replicated around the world. Future product
development efforts will be devoted to the implantation of a biological
      pacemaker.

    * Bioheart Inc. Genotyping -- "Translating the Human Genome for Patient
Care" Bioheart is positioning itself to become the primary resource to
cardiologists for genetic tests that identify cardiovascular risk
factors for which there is a therapeutic solution. Bioheart is currently
launching its proprietary PLA2 test for the identification of thrombosis
susceptibility and predisposition to early heart attack. This test
directs the customization of anticoagulant therapy based on one's
genetic background. Bioheart has introduced four additional panels of
      genetic cardiovascular risk factors.

Dr. Haimes will portray the value of the strategic intellectual property
portfolio. When taken as a whole we believe we have assembled the
strongest portfolio of intellectual property in the field of myocardial
      regeneration and device delivery technology.
