PRSA National President and CEO, Reed Byrum, APR, to Discuss What's on the Horizon for Today's Communications Fields in Detroit on Sept. 23

    Who:    Reed Byrum, APR, 2003 president and CEO of The Public Relations
            Society of America (PRSA)

    What:   PRSA-Detroit Chapter Hosts Open Luncheon at the Detroit Athletic
            Club

    What's on the horizon for today's communications fields?  Byrum will
discuss the state of the public relations industry and he'll provides insight
into PRSA from a national perspective.  The luncheon also offers the
opportunity to meet Byrum and other public relations and communications
professionals in the metro Detroit area.

    When:   Tuesday, September 23, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
            Interview session begins at 10 a.m.

    Biography:  Reed Byrum, APR, provides strategic communications counsel to
several high-tech companies, where he is responsible for creating innovative
transitional communications structures for corporations and organizations
experiencing change.  A noted speaker on the topics of corporate credibility
and financial transparency and technology issues, Byrum spent ten years in
Silicon Valley and became the first public relations professional to translate
corporate strategies and communications onto the Internet.  Additionally, he
held several communications roles at different high-tech companies before
creating his own firm that provided Internet communications and marketing
counsel.  Byrum also served as the spokesperson for EDS during its successful
turnaround in the late 1990s and was managing director of public and analyst
relations for Trilogy in 2000.  He is a graduate of Washington and Lee
University in Lexington, Va.

    Cost:  Free to credentialed media.  Cost is $35 per person for PRSA
members and $40 per person for non-members.  The deadline for reservations is
September 17.
