Gaming Standards Association Elects Industry Veteran Mark Pace of Harrah's Entertainment Chair of Its Regulatory Advisory Committee

    LAS VEGAS, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Industry advocate Gaming Standards
Association (GSA) announced today Mark Pace of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.,
has been elected to chair the organization's Regulatory Advisory Committee.
    Pace is Director of Regulatory Affairs, Electronic Gaming for Harrah's. He
has been with Harrah's for 21 years and is highly regarded throughout the
industry. In his role as committee chair, Pace will act as the chief liaison
between GSA and regulators throughout the world.
    GSA Board Chairman Gregg Solomon of Mandalay Resort Group said, "Mark's
election to this committee speaks to the strength and commitment of GSA. This
committee will interact directly with regulators, bringing GSA's vision of
improving the industry to regulators."
    At the upcoming Global Gaming Expo, GSA will conduct three demonstrations
showcasing GSA's members' cooperative work on Gaming Device Standards (GDS),
the Best of Breed project and SAS(TM) Toolkit. The demonstrations take place
in GSA's booth #455 and bring to life GSA's theme for the trade show:
"Celebrating Success."
    The protocol standardization projects have many potential benefits for
regulators, including reducing the quantity and variety of required testing.
Additionally, previewing proposed changes will allow for input into the
process.
    Solomon explained, "With Mark leading the way, we can receive valuable
input from regulators on these projects. Their input will be critical to the
future development and potential implementation, which, we believe will
benefit the entire industry. We are thrilled that Mark has accepted such
responsibility."
