FPL restoration effort continuing

    JUNO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Power & Light Company
said efforts are continuing to restore power to several north Florida and west
coast counties following Tropical Storm Gabrielle.
    Currently more than 1,600 personnel are directly engaged in restoration
activities in the Bradenton-Sarasota region where the storm made landfall on
Friday.

    As of 4 p.m. Sunday, 65,000 customers were without power.

    Charlotte -- 2,000              Putnam -- 1,000
    DeSoto -- 1,000                 Flagler -- 1,000
    Manatee -- 25,000               St. Johns -- 5,000
    Sarasota -- 30,000
