Company 39 Launches Site Dedicated to Lower Manhattan and World Trade Center Rebuilding in 50 Days With Interwoven ECM

Ease of Implementation of Interwoven Enterprise Content Management Version 5.5
Cited as Key Reason for On-time Launch of Site

    SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management
(ECM), today announced Company 39, a subsidiary of Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc.,
launched the http://www.lowermanhattan.info site in 50 days using Interwoven as its
Enterprise Content Management platform. Earlier this year, Company 39 was
hired by the New York City Economic Development Corporation to develop a site
dedicated to Lower Manhattan and the rebuilding of the World Trade Center
sites. Interwoven's proven ease of implementation, ease of administration and
ease of use were key factors in achieving this on-time, on-budget launch.
"We could not have built this site in such a short time without
Interwoven, period," said Doug Eberhard, CTO and senior vice president for
Company 39. "Imagine trying to architect an interactive, 600-page site,
integrating content from 60 different government agencies, and getting it
up-and-running in less than 60 days."
The centralized site contains a wealth of content that will, moving
forward, be updated by the 60 government agencies themselves. From transit
schedules to transportation maps, rebuilding plans to recreation, cleanup
efforts to community involvement, there is now one source that provides people
who live in, work in, and visit Lower Manhattan with regularly updated news
and information about the area. The goal of having the site available prior to
the September 11th anniversary put both the Company 39 team and the Interwoven
software to the test.
"My team has been very impressed with the improvements in the Interwoven
platform in terms of ease-of-implementation, ease-of-administration and
ease-of-use," continued Eberhard. "Using Interwoven, we have built a platform
that will make it easy for the non-technical employees at the New York
agencies to keep the site fresh and up to date."
Many TeamSite 5.5 features sped up implementation for Company 39,
including the out-of-the-box workflows and the easy-to-use graphical workflow
builder. Company 39 also made extensive use of TeamSite Templating software
to significantly reduce the time needed to create new pages. Moving forward,
templating will also empower the direct contribution of content by the
agencies themselves. Using TeamSite 5.5 software, Company 39 also built a
customized administration portal that ties site maintenance, management,
review and reporting into a single branded interface.
"New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York State Governor George
Pataki both underscored how impressed they were with the Website, and how
quickly we were able to pull together information from so many different
sources," said Janette Sadik-Khan, president of Company 39. "The skills, hard
work, and dedication of our staff, as well as the rapid deployment
capabilities of Interwoven, gave us the edge we needed in order to deliver
such a critical project in such a short time."
Special site features include an interactive transportation map covering
all modes of transportation, a virtual tour of 50 Lower Manhattan sites, a
user-friendly tool for navigating assistance and incentives programs, and an
interactive timeline charting the rich history of Lower Manhattan. See
