Even in today's tight economic times, which is putting continual
strains on shoppers' wallets, consumers can exercise their right to look
chic this season without breaking the bank as Payless ShoeSource launches
its fall collection of footwear and accessories, including the exclusive
designer lines Abaete for Payless(TM), Lela Rose for Payless(TM) and alice
+ olivia for Payless(TM). Luxury-lusting fashionistas can indulge in the
latest fall trends from rich colors and plaid prints to oxford heels and
peep-toe ankle booties, as well as great brands in addition to the Payless
Designer labels such as Airwalk(R), American Eagle(TM), Dexter(R),
Champion(R), and Dunkman(TM). Price points start as low as $10 and designer
products are available for, on average, under $40 an item.

The Abaete for Payless designer label is back this fall season with an
eye-catching collection now available nationally in select stores and
Payless.com. Unveiled at New York Fashion Week last February, designer
Laura Poretzky's ninth line for the retailer combines medieval details with
Madame Gres inspirations. Through hard and soft detailed silhouettes the
collection creates a distinctive look featuring studded hardware and draped
fabrics. The collection features five shoe styles and a coordinating
studded clutch.

Lela Rose recently expanded her alliance with Payless to include a
special occasion line of designer dyeable dress shoes and accessories,
Unforgettable Moments by Lela Rose, inspired by her new bridal dress line.
This is Rose's fifth Lela Rose for Payless collection, which is
characterized by a "Susie Chapstick meets Park Avenue" aesthetic. The
collection, due in stores now, features six shoe styles including three
pumps, two flat styles and a wedge, as well as coordinating clutches and a
handbag.

Payless' newest designer label, Stacey Bendet's alice + olivia for
Payless, debuts its third in-store collection this fall. Bendet coats her
shoe designs in '60s pop colors, while carving out '70s silhouettes. The
shoes were designed to transcend across all the ready-to-wear looks in the
alice + olivia fall collection and to contrast the femininity of the
apparel with a bit of an edge. This season's styles punctuate any outfit
with unique silhouettes, styling details and strong use of bold colors and
high shine. The alice + olivia for Payless line includes three ankle boots,
a mary jane flat and a wedge, as well as a clutch with coordinating prints
and a messenger bag.

Additional fall styles are flowing into Payless stores now. The
collection's mix of the latest on-trend styles, silhouettes and prints,
combined with affordable price points, will ensure that everyone can sport
the latest fall footwear this season. Bold patents contrast with delicate
satins, and menswear pumps offer an alternative to feminine bows.
Traditional fall hues are available, along with the season's trends of
bright red and purple.

Additional key footwear trends for the fall season include: -- Silhouettes -- wedges, peep-toe menswear pumps, pointed-toe pumps and kitten heels, round -- and snub-toe ballet flats, oxford pumps, and boots in ankle and tall shafts -- Colors -- steel silver, deep browns, rich berries and classic black -- Materials -- classic and crinkled patent, faux-suede, hounds tooth and plaid prints, tweed, satin, sweater knit, metallic crepe The line offers dozens of on-trend and classic footwear styles and coordinating handbags. New styles are arriving every week, including cool-weather accessories such as soft scarves and bold cadet hats. About Payless Designer Collections Laura Poretzky, Lela Rose and Stacey Bendet are Payless Guest Designers -- select fashion designers that create designer footwear and accessory collections featuring the latest runway looks, which Payless brings to its stores at value prices. Each collection is unique and reflective of the designer's signature style: Poretzky's "American international," drawing from her rich international experiences living in Brazil, France and New York, Rose's strong focus on "classic with a twist," and Bendet's "modern hippie chic" vibe. The Payless Guest Designer program is a key strategy in Payless' overall mission to democratize fashion in footwear and accessories.
