Automated Error Prevention Products Improve Software Quality and Reliability

Parasoft, a leading provider of Automated Error Prevention (AEP) software
solutions, announced today that Bank of Montreal, Raytheon and SBC
Communications have selected Parasoft products to help them prevent software
errors.
By automating key error prevention practices such as unit testing, static
analysis and load testing, Parasoft tools support the Automated Error
Prevention (AEP) methodology. The AEP concept advocates following five simple
steps to improve the software lifecycle by finding an error only once and
preventing entire classes of the error from ever happening again.
Bank of Montreal recently chose SOAPtest, an automated tool for testing
Web services and Enterprise systems built with SOAP. SOAPtest increases
productivity by enabling users to begin testing Web services during
development. SOAPtest can emulate both the SOAP client and server, then
automatically generate functional and load test cases based on a WSDL file.
Raytheon selected Jtest, Parasoft's automated unit testing and static
analysis tool for Java. Jtest reduces time spent chasing and fixing software
errors by automatically generating test cases to test code construction and
functionality. Jtest also automatically enforces over 300 industry-respected
coding standards allowing development teams to prevent the most common and
damaging errors.
SBC Communications selected Insure++, an automated tool to detect errors
in C and C++ code at runtime. Insure++ tests code from inside and out, then
reports errors and pinpoints their exact location. Insure++ also performs
coverage analysis, clearly indicating which sections of the code were tested.
By integrating Insure++ into a development environment, users can save weeks
of debugging time and prevent costly errors.
