Hubert Smits brings more than 15 years of Agile software project
management and IT expertise to Rally. Smits has assisted
thousands of software team members and successfully transitioned
dozens of projects to Agile and Lean practices. Born in the
Netherlands, Smits is a Certified ScrumMaster Trainer and a
frequent speaker at international industry events. He is also a
guest lecturer at Glasgow University on Agile software
development and Agile project management practices.

WHAT: At SD Best Practices, https://www.cmpevents.com/SDe7/, Smits
will deliver the following presentations focused on the adoption
              of Agile practices:

All-Out Scrum: Experiencing a Product Release Managed by Scrum
This session takes the writing and talking about planning in
large projects to a different level. Participants will lead a
large project, experiencing what hits a team or an Agile project
manager during the life cycle. The session is based on Smit's
paper, "The Impact of Scaling on Planning Activities in an Agile
              Software Development Context."

              Planning with Distributed Teams
In this session, attendees will use project information to
simulate a release planning session. The group will create a
release plan based on the backlog and the capacity of the
respective teams. Attendees will be separated into two teams to
better experience the problems faced by distributed teams as
              they work toward success.

Reading an Article: 'The New New Product Development Game'
A 1986 Harvard Business Review article by Takeuchi and Nonaka
entitled, "The New New Product Development Game," set the
foundation for the basis of the Scrum methodology. In this
roundtable discussion, Smits will re-examine this ground
breaking article and its impact on the Agile software
              development industry.
