Rescue Workers and Victims are Offered Free Crisis Counseling by Psychology Network

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was
released today by Psychology Network:

Despite valiant efforts by the American Red Cross, thousands of Americans
are not getting the crisis counseling they need in the aftermath of the
terrorist attacks. Although more than 70,000 volunteers have called the Red
Cross to offer their services, the relief agencies do not have the facilities
to connect the volunteers with the victims that need support. The NY State
Hotline for World Trade Center Relief is responding to callers by taking their
phone numbers and promising a return call. But the callers' phone numbers are
not being relayed to counselors who can comfort them.
We at PNonline volunteer the unique telephone infrastructure we developed
and our network of psychologists to help the rescue workers and victims of the
disaster. We have the ability to connect thousands of callers and volunteer
crisis counselors instantly via the telephone. The counselors, all licensed
psychologists, can connect from their home or office, bypassing the need to
travel to NY in order to help out. Rescue workers and victims can call
1-866-DR TALKS (378-2557) and the system immediately connects them with a
psychologist. In addition, users can search http://www.pnonline.com, and select a
psychologist to speak to. The unique technology at PNonline.com allows the web
site user to see which doctors are immediately available, choose one, and be
connected.
PNonline has contacted major relief organizations and the media, such as
The Red Cross, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, and CSPAN. We are equipped with a network of
300 psychologists, and have the capacity to handle thousands of additional
volunteers and phone calls. It is regrettable that our services are not being
utilized due to lack of public awareness. Please help us to contribute what we
do best...help people in need connect to crisis counselors immediately via the
telephone.
