FULLERTON, Calif., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- ThalesRaytheonSystems (TRS)
Company, LLC has been awarded a $5.9 million contract modification to provide
additional sites for the Battle Control System (BCS) -- Fixed, Spiral 1 for
the United States Air Force. The BCS program provides the replacement system
for the current Regional Air Operations Center/Air Defense Sector delivered in

support of NORAD's homeland defense mission. The contract modification adds
three additional sites: the North East Air Defense Sector, Rome, N.Y.; the
Western Air Defense Sector located at McChord Air Force Base, Wash.; and the
Alaskan Regional Air Operations Center at Elmendorf, Alaska. Future options
are included for the spiral development of BCS, including its use in the
mobile Control and Reporting Centers, often referred to as BCS-Mobile. Total
funds for the contract have been obligated by the contracting activity,
Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. The work will be
accomplished in Fullerton, Calif., and will be completed by December 2004
