LAS VEGAS, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Southwest Gas Corporation
(NYSE: SWX) announced today that Thomas A. Thomas was elected as a member
of the Southwest Gas Corporation Board of Directors on September 16, 2008.
Mr. Thomas, 50, will serve on the Audit and Compensation Committees of the
Board.
Mr. Thomas is the Managing Partner of the Thomas & Mack Co., an
investment management and commercial real estate development company with
properties and developments in Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, and
Idaho. He has managed that company since 1992. From 1986 to 1992, Mr.
Thomas held various executive positions with Valley Bank of Nevada until
its merger into Bank of America in 1992. He has degrees in Finance and Law
from the University of Utah.
Mr. Thomas is currently involved with the following charitable
organizations: Opportunity Village Foundation Board of Directors;
University of Nevada, Las Vegas Academic Corporate Council; Safe Nest
Advisory Board; Habitat for Humanity Advisory Board; Utah Shakespearean
Festival Board of Governors; Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic at the UNLV Boyd
School of Law; and the Las Vegas Area Council Advisory Board of the Boy
Scouts of America.
