Digital Signage Technology Illuminates GVExpo Exhibits and Conference

New Digital Signage Pavilion and Digital Signage Solutions Session Highlight
GVExpo, November 30-December 1 at Washington DC Convention Center

NEW YORK, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- GVExpo and ActiveLight have joined
forces to present the new Digital Signage Zone area at the upcoming
GovernmentVideo and Technology Expo (GVExpo), November 30-December 1 at the
Washington DC Convention Center.
Now in its eighth year, GVExpo is the premier government video, broadcast,
AV, and multimedia event. Sponsored by GovernmentVideo and Videography
magazines, the event is produced by CMP Media. The Digital Signage Zone will
highlight the show floor which features more than 300 exhibitors. The special
area will include products and services used to implement digital signage
strategies such as narrowcasters, digital signage control software, display
technology, video routing and distribution, graphical and content creation
software, and technology integrators supplying digital signage elements.
Given the convergence of technology, many professionals working in video
and multimedia in government agencies, departments and installations are also
now working to produce content for digital signage. Also termed
"narrowcasting," "digital in-store merchandising," "wayfinding," and
"electronic billboards," digital signage is the fastest growing segment of the
digital display industry. Its applications are found in nearly all public
spaces, including airports, museums, hospitals, and educational facilities.
"The addition of the digital signage area within the hall and including it
as a conference topic at GVExpo evolved as we started to see more of the
show's attendees becoming actively involved with the creation of electronic
signage, and begin looking for solutions within our Exhibit Hall," says Linda
Cohen, Show Director, GVExpo. "Having ActiveLight, one of the leading
suppliers in the marketplace, show such support and initiative in creating the
new show floor area only verifies the high interest level," Cohen continues.
ActiveLight is the leading authority in digital signage. The company
embraces the concept of signage from beginning to implementation, and offers
complete, turnkey digital signage solutions-including assistance with content,
technology and logistics. Research and training website Digital Signage Forum
is also lending support to the show as a Media Sponsor of GVExpo
In addition to showcasing the latest technologies in digital signage,
there will be free educational sessions open to all attendees in the GVExpo
Digital Signage Presentation Theater on the show floor, and a more in-depth
presentation is also included in the accompanying GovernmentVideo Conference
Program. On November 30, Digital Signage Quarterly will present the "Digital
Signage Solutions" session at 3:00 p.m. This session will examine the various
elements involved in implementing digital signage, including content creation,
display technology and control systems. Attendees will also learn how digital
signage can be an important tool for spreading messages to employees and the
general public, how to evaluate needs, how to maintain a system and how to
measure ROI. Moderated by David Keene, Executive Editor of Digital Signage
Quarterly, scheduled session speakers include Brad Gleeson of ActiveLight and
Steven Platt of The Platt Institute. Digital Signage Quarterly is published by
CMP Media in partnership with Active Light.
GVExpo will be held November 30 and December 1 at the Washington DC
Convention Center. The Digital Signage Zone is open to all registered
attendees and will be found on the show floor. The GVExpo show floor will be
open Wednesday November 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday,
December 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission to the GVExpo exhibit hall,
Digital Signage Zone, show floor reception, and in-hall educational sessions
including the Keynote Address and Tech Focus Forum is free for registered
attendees. Separate registration is required for the GovernmentVideo
Conference Program.
