WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Powell Goldstein expands both its
Advocacy and Government Relations and its Health Care practices with the
addition of Julius W. Hobson, Jr. as senior policy advisor. With more than
30 years experience working with the U.S. Congress, Mr. Hobson comes to the
Firm after serving as Director of the Division of Congressional Affairs at
the American Medical Association (AMA).

Mr. Hobson's health care background also includes serving as Vice
Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia
Health and Hospitals Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). Prior to joining the
AMA in 1993, he was Legislative Assistant to former Senator Charles S. Robb
(D-VA), served as the Associate Director for Federal and Congressional
Affairs in the D.C. mayor's office, and was Chief of Staff and Legislative
Director to former U.S. Representative Walter E. Fauntroy (D-DC). Mr.
Hobson also served as Associate Director for Congressional Affairs and the
Assistant for Federal Affairs to the Vice President for Development and
University Relations at Howard University, and was elected to the D.C.
Board of Education. Mr. Hobson is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor
of Political Management, Graduate School of Political Management at The
George Washington University.
Mr. Hobson received his B.A. in History from Howard University and an
M.A. in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University.
