In addition to being ranked third overall in InformationWeek's
Innovation Category, American Power Conversion was also awarded the number
one position for IT innovation in the Electronics Industry.
"American Power Conversion is honored to have been ranked within the
top 10 most innovative companies by InformationWeek for our customer
relationship management (CRM) achievements," said Brian Belleveau, CIO at
APC. "By focusing our efforts toward the continuous improvement of the
'customer experience,' we have not only achieved improvement of the
external facing processes but also the internal processes. In the end, it
is all about the customer. We want to know as much about our customers as
possible. The more we know, the better we can assist them in solving their
business problems."
In 2004, APC started a CRM transformation program. The goal was to
continuously improve the customer's experience at every touch point and
provide the level of service needed to achieve maximum customer
satisfaction. The automated program was designed to track and report failed
customer interactions and supply that data to the process improvement
teams. This system gave these teams the opportunity to focus on what is
truly needed to improve the value and experience we provide to our
customers.
"We'd like to extend our sincere congratulations to all InformationWeek
500 honorees. These companies represent today's leading technology
innovators, many of whom have joined us this week," said InformationWeek
publishing director, Fritz Nelson. "This group has prompted fascinating
discussion on some of the most forward-looking business technology
initiatives to date."
For the past 18 years, InformationWeek has identified and honored the
nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual
listing. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights
the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply
identifying the biggest IT spenders. Additional details on the
