WEST CHESTER, Pa., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- VWR Funding, Inc. (formerly
CDRV Investors, Inc.), the parent company of VWR International, LLC, a
leader in the global research laboratory industry, today announced the
appointments of six new members to the Company's Board of Directors. VWR
Funding was acquired on June 29, 2007 by affiliates of Madison Dearborn
Partners, LLC, a leading private equity investor.
Elected to the Board are Robert L. Barchi, currently the President of
Thomas Jefferson University, a director of Covance, Inc. and a trustee of
Ursinus College; Edward A. Blechschmidt, currently a director of
HealthSouth Corporation, Lionbridge Technologies and Columbia Laboratories,
Inc., and previously served as an executive officer for several companies
including Novelis, Inc.; Thompson Dean, a Co-Managing Partner and the Chief
Executive Officer of Avista Capital Partners, a private equity firm, and
currently on the boards of Nycomed International Management, NextPharma
Technologies, The Star Tribune Company and IWCO Corporation; Dr. Robert P.
DeCresce, a Harriet B. Borland Professor and Chair of the Department of
Pathology at Rush Medical College in Chicago as well as an Associate Vice
President for Ancillary Services at Rush University Medical Center in
Chicago; Carlos del Salto, recently retired from Baxter World Trade
Corporation as Senior Vice President where he was responsible for managing
the Company's Intercontinental and Asia Pacific operations; and Robert J.
Zollars, who currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of Vocera Communications, Inc. and also serves as a director of Reliant
Technologies, Inc. and Diamond Foods, Inc. Both Mr. Barchi and Mr. Zollars
are rejoining VWR's Board of Directors. Including the new appointments, the
Company's Board of Directors will have ten members.
