CIMA LABS INC. (Nasdaq: CIMA) today announced the hire of Mark D. Hankins,
Vice President of Business Development, as well as, Donald Sims, Ph.D., Vice
President of Quality Assurance.
Mr. Hankins joins the Company from Aventis Corporation where he was most
recently Director, Technology Licensing and Acquisition at the Aventis Pasteur
Merrieux vaccine division based in Toronto, Canada. Before joining Aventis he
was the Technology Licensing specialist at the National Institutes of Health
(NIH). Prior to that he was Assistant Chief Counsel of Innovation at the U.S.
Small Business Administration. Mark has a Master of Science in Biotechnology
from John Hopkins and a law degree from the University of Georgia law school.
Dr. Donald Sims comes to CIMA from Solvay Corporation where he was
Director of Quality Operations. He has held various positions at other large
and small pharmaceutical companies during his twenty-one year career. His
Ph.D. is in medicinal chemistry from the University of North Carolina.
