AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Champion
Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: CHB), a leader in the factory-built housing industry,
today announced that it has received a purchase order from the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to produce 2,000 single section
manufactured homes in connection with FEMA's disaster relief efforts in the
Gulf States affected by Hurricane Katrina. It is expected that the majority
of this approximately $60 million contract will be completed by the end of
November. Terms and conditions are subject to the execution of a final
contract.
William C. Griffiths, president and chief executive officer of Champion,

in connection with FEMA's relief efforts. The homes will be built to a
standard product specification and will be fully furnished. Our national
footprint will allow us to use available capacity in a number of our
manufacturing facilities to complete this order. We will work to balance the
production schedule at each of these facilities, and involve additional ones
as necessary, in order to continue to satisfy our retail customers' needs
while fulfilling this important contract."
