GN Netcom, Inc. Partners With Mobile Service Providers and Manufacturers to
Offer a High Quality, High Performance Telephone Headset for Hands-Free Use
NASHUA, N.H., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- GN Netcom, Inc. announces the GN
Express telephone headset for the mobile OEM and reseller markets. The GN
Express provides mobile, cellular, and PCS telephone users hands-free safety
and convenience with exceptional sound quality, comfort, and durability. GN
Netcom, Inc. is introducing the GN Express to give mobile telecommunications
manufacturers and resellers a high performance headset to meet the rapidly
growing demand from consumers for hands-free devices compatible with their
mobile telephones. GN Express, targeted to OEMs, complements GN Netcom Inc.'s
Mobility Series headsets for mobile and in-building wireless corporate use.
GN Express has a sleek, modular design and can be easily packed in a
briefcase or suitcase. Manufacturers and resellers can configure options and
customize features, colors, and logos to brand the headset for their specific
markets.
GN Express has a noise canceling microphone which eliminates background
noise to provide clear and understandable conversations from the car, airport,
or on the street. The microphone is positioned at the end of a flexible boom
so that it is optimally positioned close the speaker's mouth. The unique
speaker design delivers clear, easy to understand sound, and a RF
(radio frequency) shielded cord minimizes interference. Each headset can be
configured for both on-the-ear wear, adding comfort and allowing the headset
to be put on with one hand, and over-the-head wear, which gives the user more
stability for longer wear. GN Express is lightweight (.75 ounces),
comfortable for long wear, and durable. Users connect the headset using the
2.5 mm port on most mobile and cordless telephones. Retail price is $59.
The emerging market in hands-free mobile telephone devices is continuing
to grow because users recognize the convenience, safety, and productivity
improvement in having their hands free while talking on the telephone and
carrying luggage in an airport, driving a car, or taking notes. Currently,
manufacturers and accessory providers have limited options in the hands-free
category. The microphones used in car hands-free kits pick up and transmit
background engine and road noise making voices difficult to hear. Other
headsets and hands-free devices cannot give the performance of a high quality
headset. With earbud style headsets, the microphone hangs on a cord and picks
up background noise, gives a disturbing scratching sound when it moves over
clothing, falls out of your ear, and comes in only one size. Inferior
construction with low-cost materials in other hands-free devices increases
breakage and decreases durability. GN Express was designed by the premier
manufacturer of professional headsets as a low cost, high quality alternative
for mobile manufacturers to sell with their telephones.
"We look forward to the opportunity to partner with manufacturers and
mobile service providers to offer GN Express to this fast growing, largely
unpenetrated market," said Carol J. Meier, vice president of marketing for GN
Netcom, Inc. "We believe that GN Netcom, Inc.'s history of innovation,
worldwide distribution capacity, and continuous growth offers our partners the
expertise necessary to capitalize on the expected high volume demand for
mobile telephone headsets."
