TEWKSBURY, Mass., Sept. 22, 2005 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon's Integrated Air
Defense Center (IADC), Andover, Mass., received the Northeast Regional SHINGO
award for excellence in lean manufacturing during an awards dinner held at the
University of Massachusetts' Boston Campus last week.
The award recognizes organizations that use world-class manufacturing
strategies and practices to achieve world-class results. The award was
established in 1988 to promote awareness of lean manufacturing concepts and
recognizes companies in North America that achieve world-class manufacturing
status.
More than 4,000 employees work at Raytheon's IADC, ensuring that the
missile guidance systems, radar sub-assemblies and final systems that are
destined to support the warfighter, will work first time, every time.
Additionally, the employees at the IADC produce the critically required
circuit cards for all Raytheon businesses.

employees who embraced and employed the concepts of 'Lean Manufacturing' in
order to provide for mission assurance and 'No Doubt' in all of the products
