ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Republic Bancorp Inc.
(Nasdaq: RBNC), today announced the results of a special matching contribution
program it held toward Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts. Over the past
several weeks, Republic collected donations from its employees and has matched
100% of all employee donations. In total, over $42,000 will be sent to "The
Salvation Army - Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund" and the "American Red Cross -
Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund" on behalf of Republic Bancorp employees. In
addition to financial support, Republic Team members have also provided
assistance by volunteering in clean-up efforts in New Orleans and through
active participation in many local relief efforts. Republic Bank branches
will also be accepting donations from customers to the American Red Cross
through the end of the year.
