suppliers for Hewlett-Packard's just deployed Internet-based procurement
system.
With the new HP Smart Buy Program, Hewlett-Packard employees can now order
headsets, teleconferencing equipment, and other telephony products featured in
the Hello Direct catalog from their desktop using a customized e-commerce
interface. Hewlett-Packard is adopting the Smart Buy Program to help
consolidate its current list of more than 100,000 vendors, and centralize the
acquisition of goods and services across its many divisions within one
comprehensive, integrated system.
