Telemark Productions Announces Release Of Telemark's Guide to Dogs v.2.0, CD-ROM

RICHMOND, Calif., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Telemark Productions, an
independent developer of multimedia software, today announced the release of
Telemark's Guide to Dogs v.2.0, CD-ROM, an interactive resource for dog
lovers. Telemark's Guide to Dogs covers 168 dog breeds, and includes an
interactive breed selector and information about such diverse topics as
housebreaking, training, health care, grooming, flea control, and more, all
reviewed by experts. The original Telemark's Guide to Dogs won a Silver Apple
Award in the 1997 National Educational Media Network Competition.
"We're very excited about this software because it helps people choose a
compatible breed and learn the basics of training and care, so they can
develop a positive relationship with their dog," said Ellen Brodsky,
President, Telemark Productions. "Thousands of dogs are sent to the pound
each year because people choose a breed based on looks, or because they don't
know how to prevent or solve common problems. To meet this need, we created
Telemark's Guide to Dogs with the help of over 200 dog experts."
Telemark's Guide to Dogs' Breed Selector accurately recommends the best
breeds for anyone's lifestyle and then provides links to Breed Profiles for
more in-depth exploration. The Breed Comparer displays detailed
characteristics of any two breeds side-by-side, and users can play two
entertaining Guessing Games to test their breed recognition skills. Over 300
Web links connect directly to breed clubs and other organizations. The Search
feature helps people find what they're looking for quickly and easily.
Version 2.0 has a new simplified interface that uses familiar Internet
browser software to access all the CD-ROM's content, including the color
photos and movies. "Though it's not specifically developed for children, I've
seen kids spend hours happily playing with this product, learning as they go,"
says Ms. Brodsky. Telemark's Guide to Dogs runs on Windows(R) and
Macintosh(R) and is available at http://www.telemarkprod.com and Amazon.com for
$12.99. It is compatible with most systems, but users must have an Internet
browser to run the product. The company is currently seeking retail
distribution and marketing partners.
