Franklin Has Planned for Hurricane Rita

    HOUSTON, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Franklin Bank Corp.'s
(Nasdaq: FBTX) (Franklin) corporate office is located in Houston, Texas.
Hurricane Rita is expected to reach Houston on September 23, 2005.  Our
corporate office in Houston was closed Thursday, September 22, 2005 and
Friday, September 23, 2005.  Franklin's corporate office and certain
operations have temporarily relocated to our East and Central Texas locations.
    We have engaged our disaster recovery plan for our Texas operations which
anticipates a strong hurricane reaching Texas.
    Anthony J. Nocella, CEO and President, stated, "We are planning for a
strong hurricane to reach Houston late tonight.  Our first concern is to
ensure the safety of our customers and employees.  The management team is
geographically dispersed and ready to handle the crisis.  We do not expect any
significant damage to our banking offices in Texas or any significant
disruption in business activities at this time."
