Company seeks to ease financial concerns for soldiers and their families
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless announced that it
is supporting U.S. Troops by offering to suspend their service during
deployment. The program was first implemented in 2002 to better meet the
needs of Cingular's military customers.
How Does It Work:
Military Suspends
-- Military customers simply bring or send in a copy of their Military
Orders.
-- Cingular will hold the account and wireless number in suspended status
so the customer can keep the same wireless number upon their return.
Military Cancellations
-- Military customers simply bring or send in a copy of the transfer
documentation or deployment orders.
-- Cingular will waive all early termination fees for those customers
called to active duty and/or re-deployed to a non-Cingular service
area.
"Cingular sincerely appreciates the dedication and bravery of our troops
both at home and abroad," said Joe Ribando, Director of Sales for Cingular
Wireless - West Louisiana. "We believe this program provides our military
customers with the flexibility they need to focus on their families and their
duties while serving our country. It's a small gesture, but it is just one of
the many ways Cingular is supporting our troops."
Military personnel interested in this program should call 1-866-CINGULAR
or visit their local Cingular Wireless retail store.
