Health Fitness Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: HFIT) announced today that
Mitch Wald, well-known health and fitness industry leader, has joined the
company as regional vice president of operations. Wald will direct all client
relationships and operational management for the northeastern region of the
United States for Health Fitness Corporation and report to David Hurt, senior
vice president of operations.

the northeastern region of the country and in the continued growth of our

brings a depth of experience in all facets of health and fitness management of
multi-site operations and client services that will fit well with our business

Wald was formerly President and COO of FitnessMx, a fitness industry
business-to-business company. He also was formerly President and COO of Sport
& Health in McLean, Virginia, where he had profit and loss responsibility for
a $50 million health club company and oversaw operations of 26 facilities with
more than 50,000 members and 2000 employees. He was instrumental in
developing a corporate culture focused on customer and employee satisfaction
and retention. Earlier in his career, he oversaw the fitness division of
Arlington, Virginia-based Charles E. Smith Companies, at the time the largest
real estate company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He began his
career as a staff attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a
Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University School of Law. He has served as a
past president and four year board member of the International Health, Racquet
& Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), the largest health and fitness facility
association in the world. He is a past recipient of IHRSA's Marketing
Excellence Award and Distinguished Service Award. He was also co-founder and
first president of the Mid-Atlantic Club Management Association.
