New Service Extends Online User Generated Videos to the Mobile Market
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Eyespot Corp., developer of the
world's first online video editing and remixing tools, today announced at
DEMOfall '06 its Eyespot Mobile Share application. With Eyespot Mobile
Share, Eyespot becomes the first and only video editing and sharing website
that provides an end-to-end mobile solution for its users and partners.
Users will now be able to capture, view, receive and organize their online
user generated videos seamlessly through their mobile phones.
Eyespot Mobile Share is an easy-to-use application designed for the
JAVA and BREW mobile platforms. In addition to sending and receiving videos
captured on mobile phones to and from the Eyespot website, users can now
mobilize their online experience and play, search, rank or share videos
directly from their handsets to a variety of online sites or friend's
multi-media enabled cell phones. Not only can users subscribe to "feeds"
directly from the phone, but users can also register through the Eyespot
website to subscribe to have friends' or their favorite creators' videos
automatically sent to their cell phones.
"Eyespot Mobile Share leverages all of the strengths and popularity of
online video communities and brings it seamlessly to mobile phones. Not
only are users able to send and receive videos on their mobile handsets but
they are also able to truly interact with online video communities whenever
and wherever they have a mobile signal," said Chris Shipley, executive
producer of DEMO. "DEMO is all about highlighting transformative
technologies and with this launch, Eyespot has bridged the gap between
online video and mobile entertainment."
Additionally, Eyespot Mobile Share eliminates the parameters set with
traditional Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)delivery systems which can
limit video length on a mobile phone to 10 seconds or less. With the free
and easy to download Eyespot Mobile Share application, time constraints are
removed, allowing users to download and view videos on their phones of any
length.
"We are excited to be offering a product that not only makes enjoying
videos on mobile phone easy for anyone, but also eliminates many of the
current delivery problems that people encounter when trying to share
videoon mobile phones," said David Dudas, co-founder of Eyespot Corp.
"Companies are feeling pressure to jump into the vast mobile market and
with the flexibility of Eyespot Mobile Share, we have created a opportunity
for any company to reach the hundreds of millions of mobile users."
For partners, Eyespot Mobile Share can be part of the company's white
label or "powered-by" offering, which allows companies to brand the Eyespot
tools for use on their own sites, breaking down the barrier to entry in
creating new and innovative offerings such as online video editing and
mobile delivery. The new offering from Eyespot can also help wireless
carriers enhance its offerings by providing a turnkey solution to enable
its customers to leverage unique content and online communities both on and
off deck.
