Eschbach will be the principal contact for the financial community, with a
focus on increasing awareness of the company and its activities, and
contributing to the development and execution of RMI.NET's financial
strategies. He will report to Douglas H. Hanson, chairman and chief executive
officer for RMI.NET.
"Through acquisitions and organic growth, RMI.NET has successfully
expanded its role as a leading national commerce solutions provider. We
needed to ensure, however, that the financial community has a clear and
concise understanding of our company. We believe Steve will help bring focus
to our accomplishments and business strategy," Hanson said.
Hanson noted that Eschbach would help increase awareness of RMI.NET's
unique position in the industry as one of the few companies that can offer
customers -- including small and medium-sized businesses -- the three major
components of a successful commerce solutions provider. These components are
e-business applications; high-speed, dedicated Internet access, including Warp
Wire(SM) Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service through a recent partnership
with Covad Communications; and Internet hosting and marketing.
Eschbach recently was director of investor relations for Lakewood,
Colo.-based KN Energy, Inc, an integrated natural gas company. He managed
financial community activities during a tremendous growth period for the
company, which in recent years moved from a regional player to the nation's
sixth-largest integrated natural gas company with more than $9 billion in
total assets, including telecommunications operations.
Prior to joining KN Energy in August 1997, Eschbach was director of
investor relations and economic development for Yankee Energy System Inc. in
Meriden, Conn. While with Yankee Energy in May 1997, he was named one of six
outstanding managers of investor relations by Gas Industries, a trade
publication serving the natural gas industry.
Eschbach joined Yankee Energy in 1990, after working as a senior financial
analyst and expert witness for the Connecticut Department of Public Utility
Control and Office of Consumer Counsel.
Eschbach is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a bachelor's of science
degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. He has a master's
degree in business administration, with a concentration in investment finance,
from the University of Hartford.
Denver-based RMI.NET, Inc., formerly Rocky Mountain Internet, is a
national commerce solutions provider focusing on turnkey e-business
applications and convergent communications. RMI.NET has developed and
provides small and medium-sized companies with scalable e-business
capabilities; customized web page development and hosting; nationwide Internet
dialup and dedicated access; Digital subscriber line (DSL) service; and
traditional communication services, including Internet telephony. The company
