WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Five FBI Agents (four African-
Americans and one Hispanic-American) held a Press Conference at the National
Press Club in Washington after an early morning appearance on NBC's "Today
Show" regarding a pattern of disparate treatment and racial harassment in the
FBI's New York Field Office that interfered with their duties, including
efforts to develop potentially important information in the 9-11 Pentbomb
investigation. Earlier this week, the Agents sent a letter to FBI Director
Mueller and Congressional leaders detailing these charges and their many
efforts to address these issues with FBI NYFO management. The Agents shared a
common supervisor who put them under constant scrutiny and subjected them to
disparate treatment and harassment. The supervisor later posted a racially
derogatory caricature of two of the Agents on the Gang squad's "Wall of
Shame," an office bulletin board with pictures of gang members and criminal
suspects. The Agents' efforts to remedy these problems were met with
retaliation and reprisal from NYFO management.
Agents in Attendance:
* Special Agent Nathan Tucker * Special Agent Kendall Hobson
* Special Agent Wilfred Baptiste * Special Agent Carlos Luquis
* Special Agent Paul Sutherland
