Under a 10-year agreement, CSG's Kenan FX solutions and its services
expertise will be leveraged to support BSNL's subscribers across all of the
operators' lines of business, including GSM wireless, IP and fixed line
services.
Following a comprehensive selection process, BSNL selected Kenan FX for
its proven capabilities for operators with complex convergent service
offerings and for its ability to support BSNL's projected subscriber growth
over the next decade.
BSNL also cited CSG's proven solutions and experience in supporting its
nationwide GSM wireless subscribers as a key factor in expanding its
partnership with CSG, which began in 2002 when the operator deployed Kenan/BP
to support its initial rollout of GSM services across India. Today, CSG's
billing solution supports approximately 9 million GSM subscribers for BSNL.
"CSG is proud to continue to play a key role in supporting the expanding
telecommunications industry in India -- one of the largest and fastest-growing
markets in the world. We are especially proud to forge this long-term
partnership with BSNL as it pioneers a new era of delivering convergent
telecommunications services to millions of subscribers leveraging a single,
powerful billing and customer framework," said Hank Bonde, President of CSG's
Global Software & Services Division. "CSG's world-class solutions and
expertise will help BSNL dramatically reduce operating costs and deliver a
consistently high-quality customer service experience while supporting a
fast-growing subscriber base and rolling out innovative bundled service
offerings."
In a multi-phased project, BSNL will upgrade its current version of
Kenan/BP to the latest version of the billing platform that is part of the
Kenan FX business framework to support its GSM subscriber base today and in
the future. BSNL also will extend the use of Kenan FX to support all lines of
businesses as part of a company-wide initiative to standardize billing
platforms across the organization.
Over the course of the partnership, BSNL also will deploy other solutions
within the Kenan FX portfolio, including CSG's Orders, Roaming and CSG Data
Mediation solutions. Combined, CSG's Kenan FX solutions will deliver an
end-to-end support of BSNL's subscribers across all services, providing the
operator with a holistic view of its subscriber base and enabling it to
quickly and effectively roll out bundled, convergent offerings to its
customers.
CSG's Professional Services organization will lead the implementation of
the Kenan FX solutions as well as many other third-party software products.
CSG's Professional Services team also will work on-site at BSNL to develop
a world class billing operations organization and provide comprehensive
day-to-day support for its billing and mediation platforms. CSG also will
play a key role in coordinating numerous other strategic initiatives, such as
developing standard operating procedures; enhancing business process to
optimize efficiency; providing best practice recommendations for operating
processes and business reporting; leveraging the billing system to drive
greater competitive advantage and creating an overall architectural framework
for its billing and customer care infrastructure. CSG will also ensure
effective knowledge and skills transfer by developing a skilled in-house
resource pool to support BSNL's billing infrastructure.
CSG is the leading billing and customer care solutions provider in the
dynamic Indian telecommunications marketplace, supporting millions of
subscribers across multiple services including content, broadband, wireless,
