TACOMA, Wash., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Columbia Bank
welcomed over 125 people -- customers and non-customers -- to its inaugural
Shred Fest Event on Saturday, September 23rd at the Bank's Allenmore Branch
in Tacoma. The bank intends to provide similar events in various Puget
Sound locations on a regular basis, and will announce a Shred Fest schedule
in the near future.
"We were thrilled at the response to the inaugural Shred Fest," said
Dan Patjens, Senior Vice President and Regional Retail Manager. "Based on
its success we will definitely provide more of this service in the future.
With all the snacks, drinks, and give away items everyone had fun; it was
like a party with information and our customers found that invaluable. The
feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we really enjoyed having the
opportunity to provide this free service in such a fun way."
Shredding services were donated by Recall, and members of the Tacoma
Police Department and the Office of the Attorney General were on hand to
answer questions. Visitors also attended "Fraud 101" Seminars conducted by
Columbia Bank's Fraud Prevention Officer.
