MILPITAS, Calif., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sipex (OTC:
SIPX.PK) is pleased to announce the SP3080E, the first product available in
a family of advanced 5 volt RS485 transceivers. It features 15kV ESD
protection, 1/8th Unit Load for up to 256 devices per bus, hot swap
capability, advanced failsafe protection, voltage and thermal overload
protection, and low power shutdown. SP3080E is a full-duplex transceiver
with slew-rate limited to 115kbps. It is available in industry standard,
RoHS/Pb-free 14 pin narrow SOIC packages.
The full family adds nine new devices; SP3080E through SP3088E. All
members of this family comply with both RS485 and RS422 EIA Standards and
contain an enhanced feature set designed to simplify the design of robust,
high performance RS-485 communication networks. These features
differentiate the products from other RS-485 transceivers. The complete
family offers a choice of slow, medium or fast data-rates and either
half-duplex, full-duplex or full-duplex with enable/shutdown.

SP3080 is available now. The remaining eight devices in the family are
