September Signifies Champions, Olympics and Gold Fever, October Champions Breast Cancer Awareness Month

   The World is Awash in Pink Lights to Put the Spotlight on Breast Cancer

    NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the triumphant spirit of the
Olympics, the world will unite once again -- this time, to spread the message
of breast cancer awareness.  October 2000 Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks
off with the Estee Lauder Companies' Global Landmarks Illumination Initiative.
The evening of October 2nd, from 6:30pm-8:30pm local time*, notable landmarks
around the world will be illuminated in pink lights symbolizing global unity
in the world's on-going effort to find a cure for breast cancer.

    The focus of the illumination initiative will take place in Sydney,
Australia and New York City, as indicated below.

    Landmark:      Museum of Contemporary Art
    City/Country:  Sydney, Australia
    Date/Time:     October 2nd, 7:30pm Sydney time (4:30am NY time)
    Dignitary:     Evelyn Lauder, Senior Corporate Vice President of the Estee
                   Lauder Companies and Founder of The Breast Cancer Research
                   Foundation
    Description:   The Museum of Contemporary Art, which sits across the
                   harbor from the famous Sydney Opera House, houses
                   Australia's most progressive collection of modern art.
                   Nearby buildings including the Ferry Station and the AMP
                   Building will also be awash in pink lights.
