CINCINNATI, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Budgens, the community food retailer
with an excess of 225 stores across the UK, has this month signed the contract
for the pilot and roll out of Vision BeanStore. The Java based system from
PCMS, one of the country's leading retail IT and software specialists, will
act as the company's new electronic point of sale system for outlets across
the UK.
Incorporating a Linux back office, the Chip & PIN-enabled system offers
full resilience at point of sale, with integrated customer display and weigh
scales. In addition, online transactions to a central point, together with
integrated data distribution, give Budgens
total access to full management information.
Garry Barr, IT director at Budgens commented: "Our aim is to be a viable
alternative to the superstore, bringing fresh food of a high quality to our
