U.S. Department of Justice Selects LexisNexis as Primary Provider

               Seven-year, $35 million dollar contract expands
                     LexisNexis services to all DOJ users

    DAYTON, Ohio, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider

today it has been selected as a primary information provider to the United
States Department of Justice (DOJ). The new seven-year, $35 million dollar
contract, which begins October 1, 2004, continues a 25-year relationship.
    As a primary provider, LexisNexis will deliver a complete suite of legal,
news, financial, and public records solutions including access to the flagship
LexisNexis services at lexis.com and Law Enforcement solutions to the 25,000
attorneys, paralegals, librarians, public affairs officers, investigators,
agents, and analysts at the DOJ.  In addition, the award means that LexisNexis
will serve all components of the DOJ - including the US Attorneys Office, FBI,
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) - with tailored
applications to meet their research and investigative needs.
