DALLAS, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dallas chapter of the Public
Relations Society of America (PRSA) is hosting its annual Media Day on
October 20, 2006. CNN Anchor, Betty Nguyen, will deliver the lunch keynote
address, while the breakfast keynote will be Paul Burka, editor of Texas
Monthly. Attendees will gain valuable insight to sharpen their
communication skills as well as hear from media executives first-hand to
learn about the expected media industry standards of today.
Media Day 2006 will feature two tracks to choose from, allowing
attendees to attend sessions more closely aligned with their topics of
interest, featuring experts who have direct experience in these areas.
Track one will consist of top communication executives who will speak on
emerging technologies and the landscape of "new media," including topics
such as blogging, podcasting, Web 2.0 and social networking.
Track two will consist of meet the press roundtables, enabling
attendees to sit at a table with journalists to hear exactly what the media
likes and looks for in placements. Journalists participating in this
session include print, broadcast and diversity media including those from
the Dallas Morning News, KXAS-TV, Univision, Fort Worth Star Telegram and
Dallas Business Journal.
Nguyen will be featured as the lunch keynote speaker. She is based in
the network's world headquarters in Atlanta, joining the CNN network in
April 2004. Nguyen anchors CNN's weekend news programs, CNN Saturday
Morning and CNN Sunday Morning. Before joining CNN, Nguyen was an anchor
for KTVT in Dallas.
Media Day 2006 will take place at the Las Colinas Country Club located
at 4440 N. O'Connor Blvd. in Irving. Breakfast registration begins at 7:00
a.m., followed by a keynote speaker from 7:30 - 8:50 a.m. Track sessions
last from 9 - 11:50 a.m. The luncheon will begin at noon, featuring the
keynote address. Pricing for this event is as follows:
