RENO, Nev., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc.
(Nasdaq: RENO; PCX: RNO) announced new service, effective today, between San
Francisco and Los Angeles, Las Vegas to Orange County, and Colorado Springs to
Reno.
"Reno Air is pleased to offer this enhancement to our winter schedule,"
said Reno Air's Vice President of Marketing and Sales Steve Sarner. "These
six cities represent markets which are important to Reno Air with a mix of
business and leisure destinations."
The San Francisco - Los Angeles addition is unique, as it is part of Reno
Air's first international codeshare agreement with Qantas Airways, Ltd. This
new codeshare, part of Reno Air's strategic plan to build global alliances and
partnerships, will provide Bay Area passengers seamless connections to
Australia and beyond.
New service between Las Vegas and Orange County is part of the planned
expansion of the company's Las Vegas hub. Orange County has been very
receptive to Reno Air's low-fare, full-service product, and with the
popularity of Las Vegas as a vacation destination, this new service should be
well-received.
Colorado Springs - Reno service provides Reno Air an opportunity to
increase its flights and destinations from Colorado Springs following a
competitor's decision to move all of its flights to Denver International
Airport. In addition to initiating two daily nonstop flights to Reno, the
carrier is adding a fourth nonstop flight to Las Vegas. Colorado Springs is
an emerging market with a lot of potential for the company's type of high
quality service offering more connections via Reno to Portland, Seattle,
Anchorage, Los Angeles, Orange County, Ontario, San Diego, San Jose and
Vancouver, B.C.
Reno Air currently serves 22 cities with 30 state-of-the-art MD-80 and
MD-90 series jets with an average age of less than seven years, one of the
youngest all-jet fleets in the industry. Reno Air offers everyday low fares,
advance seat assignments, domestic and international frequent flier programs,
a spacious first class cabin, "EZtrip" ticketless travel and full
participation in all major computer reservation systems.
