CHICAGO, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- GATX Rail announced the appointment of
John Swezey to vice president -- engineering. Mr. Swezey (35) will have
overall responsibility for all technical aspects of the existing fleet, as
well as new car business. In addition, he is representing GATX in regulatory
and industry associations and committees, including AAR, DOT-FRA, and
Transport Canada.
Prior to joining GATX, Mr. Swezey spent nearly five years with Chamberlain
GARD as a project engineer. He joined GATX Rail in 1992 as a design
development engineer and transferred to Dallas, TX, two years later where he
served as engineer/manager of railcar supply. In that function, he acted as
the liaison between GATX and Trinity Railcar for all technical and quality
issues. Last year, Mr. Swezey returned to Chicago as director of engineering,
with the responsibility for managing the core engineering aspects for GATX's
existing fleet.
