Brady Corporation Appoints Robert L. Tatterson as Chief Technology Officer

    MILWAUKEE, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brady Corporation (NYSE:
BRC), a world leader in identification solutions and specialty materials,
today announced the appointment of Robert L. Tatterson, Ph.D. to the
position of Chief Technology Officer. Tatterson will report to Brady
President and Chief Executive Officer Frank M. Jaehnert, and will oversee
the company's new product development activities and direct Brady's global
R&D functions in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He will be responsible for the
development of proprietary products including high-performance materials,
and identification system printers and software.
    Tatterson joins Brady with extensive experience in process and product
innovation. He comes to Brady from GE, which he joined in 1992 as a
research and development engineer at GE's Corporate Research Center. There
he developed processes for GE businesses including GE Lighting and GE
Silicones. He later moved to GE Plastics, a unit of General Electric's
industrial segment, where he has held a variety of positions with
increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Technology General
Manager for GE Plastics' Display and Optical Films business in Mt. Vernon,
Indiana. He is a 6 Sigma Master Blackbelt and holds advanced degrees in
chemical engineering from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
