WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Powell Goldstein LLP
announced today that partner Peter Segal has been selected to serve as
Treasurer and Executive Committee Member for the Kennedy Center's National
Committee for the Performing Arts (NCPA). The NCPA was established in 1993
as an organization to support, enhance and advocate national arts education
through the Kennedy Center, as the National Center for the Performing Arts.
The NCPA is comprised of business, political and philanthropic leaders
who have been on the cutting edge of advocacy for the arts and professional
arts education and development. With this mission in mind, the NCPA
sponsors a series of professional fellowships through the Kennedy Center
American College Theater Festival.

Mr. Segal, a partner in Powell Goldstein's Real Estate Finance &
Development practice, represents developers and owners of commercial and
residential real estate nationally, developers and operators of hotels and
nursing homes, real estate brokers, mortgage bankers, contractors,
subcontractors and real estate lenders. His experience includes an active
commercial leasing transactions practice on behalf of both landlords and
national tenants. He represents lenders in connection with real estate
secured loan transactions, be they construction, permanent or mezzanine
financing, non-real-estate asset-based loan transactions or workouts.
Mr. Segal has published a number of articles on topical real estate
issues and was recently honored as one of "Washington's Legal Elite" by
Smart CEO magazine.
He is a former Trustee of the National Housing Conference and member of
the Board of Visitors of the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2003, he
was elected to the Housing Hall of Fame of the National Association of Home
Builders of the United States.
Mr. Segal holds a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of
Law and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University. He is a
member of the State Bar of the District of Columbia.
