MIAMI, FL USA
    NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A BURGER KING(R) restaurant re-opened
in Orleans Parish, New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 1. The restaurant -- the
first national quick service restaurant to open in this area -- is one of more
than 30 BURGER KING restaurants now open in the Greater New Orleans area.

"As soon as the power is restored in each of the restaurants, our teams
work expeditiously to get them ready and open to serve our guests," said Rich
Wyckoff, Burger King Corporation division vice president of the region that
includes the Gulf Coast. "The re-opening of this restaurant in Orleans Parish
is the direct result of the quick response and tremendous support that we have
received throughout the BURGER KING system."
The restaurant, 4230 General DeGaulle Drive, New Orleans, La., is in one
of the locations hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina. When it opens, the
restaurant will serve a limited menu that includes WHOPPER(R) sandwiches and
other burgers, as well as French fries and beverages.
"As each of our restaurants re-opens, we are seeing a large volume of
guests," said Jerry Comstock, CEO of Strategic Restaurants, owner and operator
of the restaurants. "We're extremely pleased by the return of our guests, and
equally pleased that we now have job opportunities to offer displaced
employees as they return home. One of the biggest challenges we face is
adequate staffing. We continue to be eager to hire employees at all levels in
our restaurants."

recruit and hire displaced employees into new or existing jobs at BURGER KING
