LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran journalist Jerry Roberts
made news himself this year when he resigned from the Santa Barbara
News-Press, to be followed by several editors and other members of the news
staff. The Society of Professional Journalists recently presented its
highest ethics award to Roberts and eight others for putting ethical
convictions above professional security.
The Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Society of Professional
Journalists invites you to spend an evening with Jerry Roberts on
Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Burbank, CA. The award-winning journalist will draw on
his long and illustrious career to discuss some of the most topical issues
in our industry today, including the importance of ethics in managing the
modern newsroom.
Roberts, the former managing editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, is
also a broadcast commentator, journalism instructor and the author of
"Never Let Them See You Cry," a biography of California Sen. Dianne
Feinstein.
