HomeNet to Service VoIP and Triple Play Deployments
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Today NetCentrex(TM), the leading
enabler of converged voice-video-data networks and next-generation services,
and HomeNet Communications (formerly Video Internet Broadcasting Corporation
-- VIB/VIB TV), the pioneer in iTPP(TM) (integrated Triple Play Provider)
voice, video and data services, announced a triple-play-focused partnership
through which HomeNet Communications will deliver Voice over IP (VoIP)
services enabled by the MyCall(TM) VoIP component of the IPlay3(TM) voice and
video communications platform.
The two companies will work together to address the needs of
small-to-medium-size fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments by offering fiber
networks the ability to deliver integrated triple play services.
"HomeNet Communications and NetCentrex are logical partners with
tremendous synergies in our integrated triple-play deployment, vision and
strategy," said Kelly Ryan, chief executive officer of HomeNet Communications.
"This partnership will provide HomeNet Communications with an avenue to
increase its customer base significantly as we work with the largest VoIP
provider in the world."
HomeNet will use the advanced MyCall voice solution, a component of
NetCentrex' IPlay3 voice and video communications platform, to deliver VoIP
solutions to deployment customers and will also market HomeNet video and data
services to round out a fully integrated triple-play service offering. HomeNet
utilizes an ASP-based model, which allows smaller deployments a scalable way
to redistribute services utilizing optical fiber interconnections.
"What IPlay3 and HomeNet offer, and what today's Triple Play providers
need are integrated service platforms, not network complexity. Smooth customer
interfaces and proven backoffice interoperability result in high service take
rates and improved ARPU," states Joe Savage, President of market analysis firm
Telecom Think Tank.
"This agreement is a 'win win' for both companies in that it allows us to
quickly enable small-to-medium-size deployments the opportunity to deliver
advanced IP services, with a lower up-front capital investment and a
carrier-class potential in terms of scalability," added Alain
Fernando-Santana, chief executive officer of NetCentrex, Inc.
